Born in West Berlin, Germany as the only child of Edgar Froese, the founder of the legendary electronic group, Tangerine Dream
Contact with synthesizers and other electronic music equipment long before more than half of the world’s population was even aware that such devices existed 😉
Multi-instrumentalist, playing electric and acoustic guitars, keyboards and drums in a variety of different projects
Was immortalised with a photo on all Tangerine Dream albums from 1971 til 1982
Lead guitar tribute on Tangerine Dream’s – Lily on the Beach, studio album in 1989
Joined Tangerine Dream as a full time member in February 1990
His first studio album, Melrose, recorded entirely with the band, was released in November 1990
Has been nominated for a GRAMMY seven times in a row in the years 1991 to 1995
Has reached the American and BritishTop 10 charts for several times from 1992 – 2018
U.S. KEYBOARD Magazine Readers Poll Winner as Best Electronic Instrumental Artist in 1994
Various film & TV work for NHK (Japan), Sony Pictures (USA), BMG, Camera One/Unapix (USA), National Geographics (USA), Bavaria/ARD/Tatort (Germany)
Released his first solo album Neptunes in 2005, which received a lot of kudos worldwide and introduced his newly developed musical style called Guitartronica
At his own request, Jerome left Tangerine Dream in 2006 after 16 successful years and about 1.5 million records sold
Further solo albums in 2007 (Shiver Me Timbers) and 2012 (Far Side Of The Face)
Founding of the musical project LOOM in 2010, together with long-time Tangerine Dream member Johannes Schmölling
Selected collaborations and remix works from 2010 to the present day, with Tangerine Dream, Claudia Brücken & Susanne Freytag (Propaganda), Demis Roussos (Aphrodite’s Child), Andy Bell (Erasure), Marty Willson-Piper (The Church, All About Eve)
Jerome has also been working for some time on his next solo album, which will be called Flowers & Skywriters. Release TBA …
